Public Strategies, Inc. (PSI) New York and Washington Offices Add Senior Talent
Austin, Texas - Public Strategies, Inc. (PSI) today announced the addition of three seasoned communications professionals in the firm's New York and Washington offices.
Joining PSI as a managing director is Ellen Davis, who brings a wealth of experience in both government and network television. Davis will work in New York, where she will be joined by Elie Jacobs, a veteran of several New York communications firms. Jacobs will work as a director. Also joining PSI as a director is veteran White House reporter Ron Hutcheson, who will work in the firm's Washington office.
"The growth of our New York City client base makes it clear that our unique Fifth Seat™ approach resonates with clients who need corporate and financial communications," said Public Strategies' President and CEO Jeff Eller. "Our clients are sure to benefit from the addition of Ellen and Elie in our New York office."
Davis has spent the past nine years at ABC News, where she headed the network's coverage of legal issues, making editorial decisions and contributing content for World News With Charles Gibson, Nightline and Good Morning America. While with the network, she won the 2005 Edward R. Murrow Award for ABC's coverage of Saddam Hussein's criminal trial. A lawyer by training, Davis worked at the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss Hauer and Feld in Washington prior to joining ABC. Before that, she held a variety of positions in the Clinton administration, working in the Justice Department's Office of Legislative Affairs and in the White House Office of Legal Counsel. A graduate of Boston University and Georgetown University's Law School, Davis also has worked for Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and for CBS News.
Jacobs joins PSI from the Brunswick Group, LLC, where he provided communications counsel and strategic advice to a range of corporate clients, including Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Excelon, AT&T, CVS and Alltel. Prior to joining Brunswick, Jacobs worked on media training and corporate communications at MacMillan Communications in New York. A 2002 graduate of Rutgers University, Jacobs has also worked in the office of former President Bill Clinton in New York, where he assisted Clinton in research and speechwriting.
Hutcheson has served since 2001 as White House correspondent for McClatchy Newspapers (formerly Knight Ridder), and, from 1994 until 2001, served as Washington bureau chief for the Fort-Worth Star Telegram. Prior to that, Hutcheson spent 13 years as the newspaper's chief Washington correspondent. Hutcheson has made regular appearances offering analysis and commentary on Fox News and MSNBC, among others, and served as president of the White House Correspondents Association in 2005. Hutcheson also has held a variety of reporting jobs in Dallas and Austin.
"Ron is an excellent addition to our already thriving Washington office," said Eller. "His media savvy, strong writing skills and deep understanding of the public policy process will be enormously beneficial to our clients."
PSI serves some of the world's largest and best-known corporations, nonprofit organizations, associations and professional firms. With 200 employees in 15 U.S. cities, including Dallas, New York and Washington, PSI is part of WPP, the global communications services company.
