Climate Change Workshop
Please join Public Strategies, Inc. and Baker Botts L.L.P. for a Climate Change Workshop and breakfast on April 14, 2008.
Public Strategies will present an overview of its research into public opinion on climate change, including the public's expectations of corporations and government in resolving climate change issues. Baker Botts will address how pending climate legislation will impact business and will discuss the evolving role of carbon markets and how companies can encourage efficiency and mitigate compliance costs.
Speakers will include:
James Fuller leads Public Strategies' government relations practice group. An expert at managing public policy and advocacy campaigns, Fuller advises clients with issues before federal, state and local governments. His experience includes the recent development and implementation of a national energy coalition campaign. Prior to joining Public Strategies, Fuller served in the administration of President George W. Bush and was a longtime advisor and political strategist to U.S. Senator Pete Domenici.
Bill Bumpers is an environmental partner and heads the firm's global climate change practice group. Mr. Bumpers focuses on the Clean Air Act and climate change issues. He previously served on the EPA's New Source Review Reform Subcommittee of the Clean Air Act Advisory Committee as well as counsel to the team that performed the feasibility study for the World Bank's Prototype Carbon Fund.
David Iannelli is a managing director in Public Strategies' research practice group where he conducts quantitative and qualitative public opinion research to inform strategy development for advocacy campaigns, litigation and crisis communications, and to assist companies in tracking their brand performance.
Steve McMillen is a Special Counsel in Baker Botts' Environmental Department. He regularly advises clients on carbon markets strategy, providing project development analysis and counsel related to carbon offset credits. He frequently writes and speaks on climate change issues.
