Bruce Hight joined Public Strategies' Austin office as a senior advisor where assists in developing communications and media relations strategies for the firm's clients.
His earlier work
Prior to Public Strategies, Hight worked for 32 years as a highly respected reporter and editorial writer for the Austin American-Statesman, where he covered business and government issues. As a reporter, he practiced the importance of fact-based work; as an editorial writer and a member of his newspaper’s editorial board, he effectively practiced the art of advocacy. Before joining the American-Statesman, he was a reporter for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn.
Hight received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee. He serves on the board of the Gridiron Association, which annually awards scholarships to journalism students at area universities, and is a member of the Headliners Club In Austin.
