Julia Sutherland is a senior member of Public Strategies’ leadership team. With 20 years of consulting experience, she has served as a respected counselor and strategist on public-policy communications and crisis and reputation management for numerous corporate and trade association clients.Â
An accomplished public affairs team leader on issues including transportation safety, financial services regulation, intellectual property protection, and labor and employment issues, Sutherland has worked with clients such as Bridgestone, The Center for Audit Quality, Medco, PhRMA, The Walt Disney Company and Food Lion.
Among her recent achievements, she worked with a major drug store chain in renegotiating state Medicaid reimbursement rates, led a crisis and litigation communications team for a large provider of funeral services and provided strategic media relations counsel associated with financial reporting issues.
Her earlier work
Previously, Sutherland served as press secretary to U.S. Sen. Chuck Robb. She also held several public affairs posts in Virginia state government, including four years as deputy press secretary to then-Governor Robb.
