His work with Public Strategies
James Fuller is the Chief Executive Officer for Public Strategies. He brings to the firm over 16 years of communications experience and public-policy expertise in the political, government and corporate sectors.

Fuller’s experience includes client relationships that span a board spectrum of consultative services. He has worked to develop and coordinate company-wide strategies for corporations in numerous sectors and advises clients on executive positioning, litigation communications, public affairs, change management, and mergers and acquisitions. He recently helped form and manage a national energy coalition, advised and led a team providing services to a coal-producing company in the areas of litigation communications, corporate media, investor and, government relations. Fuller has provided government relations assistance to a uranium exploration and mining company, and led a Public Strategies team that managed communications and advertising for a national coalition on intellectual property issues.

Other Recent achievements include serving on the team that has provided strategic guidance on policy, messaging and outreach to lawmakers and candidates for a national coalition on youth issues; leading a team that provided crisis and litigation communications related to a major product recall by a children’s furniture manufacturer; and representing a leading risk management company among other clients before the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and Congress.

His earlier work
Before joining Public Strategies, Fuller served in the Bush Administration as chief of staff at the Consumer Product Safety Commission and as chief of staff and deputy chief operations officer at the Transportation Security Administration within the Department of Homeland Security. While at TSA, Fuller served on the agency’s Leadership Council, where he oversaw all major policy issues, security operations and communications strategy. While at TSA, Fuller directed federal transportation security operations and was instrumental in coordinating the U.S. security response after the London terrorist bombings in July 2005.

Fuller held a number of senior political and legislative roles on the staff of U.S. Senator Pete Domenici of New Mexico. As a legislative assistant, he monitored and developed legislation regarding commerce, economic development, telecommunications, transportation, space and small business issues. Fuller also has led statewide political campaigns in New Mexico, including serving as the executive director for the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign and as campaign manager for Senator Domenici’s successful 2002 re-election effort. Fuller also served as the chief of staff for the Republican Senate caucus of New Mexico Legislature.
