Her work with Public Strategies
Melissa Mendoza works with Public Strategies Digital & Creative, the firm’s creative group. She assists the group with its three key functions of corporate branding and positioning, issue advertising campaigns, and online advocacy networking. She first joined Public Strategies as a member of the fellows program while pursuing a master’s degree. 

Her earlier work
Mendoza served as the alumni affairs assistant and communications intern at The Fund for American Studies in Washington, D.C., where she edited the Web site, marketed events, and wrote and published a monthly online newsletter. While in graduate school, she and classmates founded a news magazine Web site to publish student work. 

Mendoza holds a bachelor’s degree in English, with minors in Spanish and government, from Georgetown University, as well as a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
